Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to accomplish my short term goals first... Once I do that, I will have an idea of what to expect long term... 44 yrs old now and since I've been injured free for 1 month I am jumping back on marathon training. Any recommendations for a good marathon in December 2021? What is your recommendation?

Personal:

Don't knock it until you try it.

Benny - awesome!! I've been following your races for over a year, and know how much you wanted that sub-2:30. After so many close-calls....congrats! You deserve it. Enjoy it.

Terrific race and good report, really happy for you. Great to run with a plan like that. If you had gone too fast to start the hammies might have got you earlier and caused big problems. That seemed to be a common theme for some reason.

Good job at sticking to that goal of sub 2:30. It is the persistence that got you there. As for 2:25... go for it. If you don't try you will always wonder if it was possible, and if you fail at least you know that you tried. In addition, your 5k, 10k, and Half prs all indicate that you should be able to run sub 2:25 with the right training.

You did it! Way to go! And 66th place? In the Boston Marathon?? That's awesome!

Wow, how cool that you broke 2:30 at Boston. So you were the #2 Texan then? Awesome job!! Benny's quest for 2:25 begins...

From Holt on Thu, Apr 28, 2011 at 10:16:15 from 204.113.55.41

Congrats Benny! You ran a very smart race and I'm glad you got to suck in all the Boston mystique as well!

As for the 2:25... Go for it!
